Dark Star Orchestra BIO

Dark Star Orchestra is an American band formed in Chicago in 1997, dedicated to performing the complete repertoire of the Grateful Dead through meticulous recreations of their historical setlists. With over 2,300 performances to date, Dark Star Orchestra has established itself as one of America's most active touring acts and is widely regarded as the preeminent Grateful Dead tribute band.

The upcoming performance at Franklin Music Hall on December 30, 2026, is part of their Dark Star Orchestra 2026 Tour. This venue has hosted numerous memorable shows by the band, contributing to their reputation for delivering high-energy live performances that resonate with fans. Notable songs from their recent setlists include "Good Times," "Deal," and "Dark Star," showcasing their commitment to authenticity and musical excellence.

Fans can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with the spirit of the Deadhead culture, where attendees often wear tie-dye and engage in free-spirited dancing. The show will likely feature two full sets plus an encore, maintaining the tradition of Grateful Dead concerts.
